We Have a Blue Egg!

Finally, the girls who can, have started laying blue eggs!

That's the exciting bit, because, I am sad to say, I am a little bit disappointed in their efforts so far. These eggs are not the perfect duck egg blue I remember from my Araucanas. I am giving them a chance though, because pullets' eggs are rarely as pretty as the later ones hens lay, so I am crossing my fingers and toes that they are going to get prettier.

In the mean time, we have quite an array of egg colours, and my favourite by far, is the deep olive egg. Sorry blue eggers!
